In a survey by car wash specialists IMO, 74% of drivers reported a shiny car was a quick way to make themselves happier, while only a minority said they would ‘rather boil their head’ than get their car washed. Young drivers are the most likely to improve their mood with a car wash, with 85% saying a shiny car gives them a boost.

But now the Web is awash in reports from a Porsche dealer meeting in Germany where the company revealed the even-hotter GT2 RS. Reportedly pushing 620 hp from its turbocharged boxer-six engine, the track- and street-legal GT2 RS is said to be 200 pounds lighter than the GT2.

McLaren Special Operations unveiled a one-off supercar this weekend at Pebble Beach called the X-1, designed exclusively for an anonymous enthusiast. Following a consultation with the client a design by McLaren's Korean-born RCA graduate Hong Yeo was chosen. "X-1 embodies the McLaren value that every part has to have a purpose," said Yeo.
